Risk Management Framework (RMF)

Silotech assesses DoD information systems through the RMF process in order to receive an Authority to Operate (ATO)/ Authority to Connect. We follow the 7-step process as outlined in NIST 800-53 R 5 to provide RMF support to DoD critical mission systems. Silotech provides initial authorization package creation and ATO maintenance support. Fulfill assignments IAW the framework of RMF to assess and authorize new information systems (IS) and re-authorize existing system maintenance packages for the ISs identified above. Preparation documents include, but are not limited to:

  • Interim Authorization Test (IATT)

  • Authorization to Operate (ATO)

  • Mission Impact Memorandum (MIM)

  • Plan of Action and Milestone (POA&M)

  • Program Protection Plan (PPP)

  • System Security Authorization Agreement (SSAA)

Our team also performs remediation actions for each IS. These remediations include STIG/SRG/SRR requirements and/or remediation, SCA assessment remediation, eMASS requirements, security control update, and reconciliation.

Penetration Testing

Open Source Security Testing Methodology Manual (OSSTMM). Silotech's team of experienced testers work with system/network owners to determine possible attack vectors, prioritize vulnerabilities for remediation based on risk impact levels, analyze applications and operating systems/network infrastructure for misconfigurations, and provide remediation for discovered weaknesses.
